In eighteen chapters, the book covers much ground. There are very few things I did not like in this book. The images are beautiful. This book goes in different chapters to help you decide where to start, how and why. The text is almost useless. Please note, the second edition of this book, The Art of Photography 2nd Edition will be available in paperback and digital formats beginning in early I read as much as I could and had to give up.

With well over beautiful photographic illustrations in both black-and-white and color, as well as numerous charts, graphs, and tables, this book presents the world of photography to beginner, intermediate, and advanced photographers seeking to make a personal statement through the medium of photography.
All black-and-white photographs need a good black, a good white, and tones in between. One very important subject is well described in this book, that is Zone system. Highly recommend to anyone, no narnbaum are you using film barnbau not. It even lies flat when opened to the page you want. While very brief, I found them out of place in a book on photography. Rat are 10 zones in the zone system. If you can get past the occasional moralising, it’s really quite informative. Excellent and comprehensive in it’s scope. Worth having for sure. Chapter 11 introduces digital photography as a complement to its film counterpart. Good luck with your shots.
